The Finns fence off from Russia

The Government and the President of Finland endorsed a law on building of a large wall on the border with Russia and approved amendments to it. The Law enters into force on July 15, 2022.

The Finnish leadership believes, it is necessary to strength the border and increase control over migration, which Moscow can use as pressure on the political management of Helsinki. It is planned to build a high construction-wall along the border with a total length of 1300 km. The new law regulates the mass border crossing of migrants and makes it possible to place them in camps in a controlled manner for further work with them.

Finland declared that it is ready for war with Russia and envisages a war in Europe not only within the borders of Ukraine.

"The purpose of the new law is to improve the operational capabilities of border guards in responding to hybrid threats. The war in Ukraine has made this issue urgent," said Anne Ihanus, senior adviser at the interior Ministry.
