The government said what will happen to the tariffs

The team of President Vladimir Zelensky said that even looking at a drop in gas payments, it is impossible to lower heating tariffs without adopting amendments to the relevant laws. This was told at the entrance of the round table among officials.
The difficulty is that, according to the law, amendments cannot be made until May 2020. In this regard, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Alexey Goncharuk suggested that Vladimir Zelensky submit to the Verkhovna Rada an urgent bill from the president to reduce tariffs. According to him, it will be a very short law.
He also added that there will be no increase in fees this winter.
“This winter we have protected the consumer from the fact that the tariff would increase, this is already strong because the tariff is traditionally growing,” Goncharuk said.
If all the necessary changes in legislation are adopted, the team predicts a reduction in heating costs by 10% – 15%.
The president insisted that people should receive December payments already at reduced rates.
Until the end of the day, the team announced that it would understand this issue.
