Yesterday, January 13, flooded one of the largest megacities in the world. Under water was the center of New York, namely the Lincoln Center in the Upper West Side. This was reported by local media.
The cause of the cataclysm was a breakthrough in the water supply. Unlike Kiev, here the city was flooded with cold water. Because of this, the subway in the Manhattan and Broadway area stopped working. Rescuers found out about the incident in the early morning, so they quickly began to rectify the situation. It turned out to find the "source" only after a few hours.
Local residents were warned of impurities that could flow from the tap in the near future. While water is being pumped out in the city and damaged pipes are being repaired, experts estimate the extent of the damage.
