A few days later, namely on January 16, the norm of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state” in terms of the language of advertising comes into force. This was reported by the Money Informant with reference to the document.
Section 32 of the Law regulates the language norm in advertising. According to it, advertising should be in Ukrainian on TV and radio, external media (billboards, citylights, advertising planes in stores and all subjects of service providers), on the Internet, including social networks.
In print media, which are published in one of the official languages of the European Union, advertising is allowed in the language in which the publication is issued.
Foreign television organizations may issue advertisements in one of the official languages of the EU, in parallel with Ukrainian.
If this norm of the law is not observed, the violator will have to pay 200-300 tax-free minimums - from 3400 to 5100 UAH. But this is provided if the violation is committed for the first time. If this happens again, you will have to pay 500-700 tax-free minimums - from 8500 to 11 900 UAH.
Note that the article relating to the language of advertising comes into force six months after the main document. Recall that the law on language has been in force in Ukraine since July 16.
