Death at the Dakar 2020 Rally



Today, on January 12, during the overcoming of the seventh special stage of the Dakar rally, 40-year-old motorcyclist from Portugal, Paulo Gonçalves, died.

At 10:08 local time, the race organizers sent a helicopter to the scene. Within 8 minutes, Gonçalves was discovered. The athlete was unconscious, physicians ascertained a cardiac arrest.
