Since 2020, the Ministry of Social Policy has received from the Ministry of Finance control over a part of payments to the population and turned them from subventions to budget programs.
We are talking about help for orphans and children deprived of parental care, low-income families, at birth, single mothers and others.
The changes also concern the payment of benefits and housing subsidies for utilities and the purchase of solid, liquid fuels and liquefied natural gas in cash.
In early 2019, Ukraine introduced the monetization of subsidies. The reform provides an opportunity for low-income families to receive compensation for housing payments with "live money". If a debt of more than 340 UAH is formed, the subsidy is withdrawn. In the fall of 2019, Ukrainians got the opportunity to monetize the subsidy in more than 30 banks of their choice.
