President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky decided to declare January 9 as a day of mourning in connection with the crash of a passenger plane of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) in Tehran (Iran). This was reported by the press service of the head of state.
Zelensky signed the corresponding decree based on the results of the workshop on issues related to the crash of a Ukrainian airline’s plane.
In order to honor the memory of the dead, the president decided to lower the state flags of Ukraine on the houses and structures of state authorities, local self-government, state enterprises, institutions and organizations.
The document also cancels entertainment and concert events, makes appropriate changes to the television and radio programs.
