Office of the Prosecutor General launched an investigation into the tragedy of UIA air crash in Iran

“The Office of the Attorney General, according to media reports, has begun a pre-trial investigation of the crash of an aircraft of the Ukrainian International Airlines company, which operated a PS752 flight on the Tehran-Kiev route,” the statement said.

Criminal proceedings have been opened in accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 276 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules or the operation of air transport, resulting in deaths).

Recall that on Wednesday, January 8, a Ukrainian UIA plane (flight 752) crashed under Tehran (Iran) and flew to Kiev. Later, a video appeared of the moment the plane crashed. The President of Ukraine commented on the tragedy. Zelensky also said that he urgently returns from Oman. The President also instructed the Attorney General to open a criminal case and begin checking all civil aviation.

UIA also commented on the crash. The company said that the aircraft manufactured in 2016, was received by the airline directly from the concern's plant. According to UIA, the last scheduled maintenance of the aircraft was January 6, 2020.
