On Thursday, January 9, a memorial service for Ukrainian soldiers who died in 2019 will be held in the Church of St. John the Evangelist in St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery on 8 Trekhsvyatitelskaya Street, 8. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory. Memorial service will begin at 19:00. The prayer for the fallen Ukrainian soldiers will be held by Archpriest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Pavel Melnyk.
“At the beginning of each month, the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance invites everyone to the Church of St. John the Evangelist in the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery for a memorial service for Ukrainian soldiers who died in the battles for the independence of Ukraine, and for prayer for the victory of the Ukrainian army,” it was reported.
According to the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, in 2019, 110 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in battles in eastern Ukraine, of which 107 men and three women.
