Croatia begins chairing EU Council

From January 1, 2020, the presidency of the Council of the European Union passed to Croatia.

This was reported on the website of the Council of the EU.

The term of office of Zagreb is six months - until June 30, 2020. Further, the chairmanship will pass to Germany.

The country intends to devote these six months to four main areas:

Europe that is developing;
Europe that unites;
Europe that protects;
influential Europe.
It is worth noting that this will be the first chairmanship of Croatia since its entry into the European Union in 2013.
