The united wrestling world has defined a new format for the World Cup in wrestling. The World Cup will now be held in non-Olympic years in November or early December. Competitions will be held for two days - on Friday and Saturday.
The number of teams will be reduced to six: the five best teams according to the results of the team standings of the World Cup, as well as the rest of the world, formed from the leading wrestlers of those countries that did not make it to the top 5.
This proposal was submitted by the technical commission of UWW and approved by the executive committee of the organization. Detailed information on the World Cups will be published in early 2020.
