On December 12, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, announced the detention of suspects in the murder of Ukrainian journalist Pavel Sheremet. After the detention, the Ministry of Internal Affairs holds a briefing.
The start of the briefing, at which Avakov and Deputy Chairman of the National Police Yevgeny Koval should provide details of the detention and investigation, was announced at 17:00.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko said that President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and Attorney General Ruslan Ryaboshapka will attend the briefing.
Pavel Sheremet died on July 20, 2016 in Kiev as a result of a car explosion.
The explosion probably came from a makeshift explosive device, which was most likely remotely controlled.
The main versions were called professional activities, as well as hostile relations and the participation of Russian special services.
