President Conzelu Office Official Left Under House Arrest

The Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court upheld the preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest for the head of the Department of Access to Public Information of the Office of the President of Ukraine Svetlana Kondzele. This was reported by the correspondent of the channel "112 Ukraine".

"The EAC Appeals Chamber upheld the decision of the court of first instance and left Svetlana Kondzel under house arrest. At the same time, the prosecutor filed a re-election request for the suspect in custody with the possibility of making a deposit of more than UAH 7 million," the correspondent notes.

The prosecutor argued that Konzel could destroy documents, hide from the investigating authorities and meet with other members of an organized group.

The defense insisted that their client did not violate the conditions of house arrest, had elderly parents requiring care, and did not have the means to travel abroad and hide from the investigating authorities.

NABU officials reportedly detained Svetlana Konzel, director of the Department of Access to Public Information of the Office of the President on suspicion of fraud.

Svetlana Kondzelya demanded a bribe of $ 300 thousand for assistance in the appointment to a senior position in NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy. She and other participants were detained after receiving the first tranche in the amount of $ 150 thousand.
