Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (CAP) opened pre-trial proceedings after the release of an audio recording of a conversation between the people's deputy from the Faction of the Servant of the People Yury Koryavchenkov and a former member of the Kvartal 95 studio, known under the stage name of Yuzik, with representatives of the Krivoy Rog police.
This was stated in the message of the Prosecutor General, which received Radio Liberty.
The head of the third department of the special anti-corruption prosecutor’s office, Vasily Krichun, the department opened a case on the grounds of offering, promising, or giving a bribe to an official for committing or not performing specific actions, which is a fact of abuse of influence.
Pre-trial investigation is conducted by NABU employees.
On November 18, MP Anton Polyakov, who was expelled from the Party of the People’s Party, published an audio recording on Telegram in which allegedly Yury Koryavchenkov and members of the same party talk with the head of the Kryvyi Rih police and mention the GDB, as well as local politicians Konstantin Glebov and Yuri Vilkul.
Koryavchenkov confirmed that he had spoken with representatives of Krivoy Rog law enforcement agencies, but said that they discussed the fight against drug dealers and illegal gambling. He also denied that he wanted to attract the police to counter opponents of the current government.
