Scientists from the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai decided to help “sick” cope with unpleasant symptoms faster and published a list of products that helps the body cope with hangover syndromes faster. The results of the study were published in the journal Current Research in Food Science.
Experts say that a hangover can be reduced by turning ethanol into acetaldehyde, which accumulates in the body. In order to destroy and digest it, the following substances are needed, such as alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH).
By the method of research of many food products - vegetables, fruits, cereals, spices, dairy products, legumes, egg yolks, and various drinks, scientists were able to isolate those that will "work".
So, it was found that pear, lime, coconut juice, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers most strongly increase the activity of enzymes helping to get rid of alcohol in the body.
An anti-hangover cocktail was even developed, which consists of 65% of pears, 25% of lime, and 10% of coconut milk. Also, salads, which include tomatoes, cucumbers and cheese, received positive reviews.
But coffee can aggravate hangover syndromes most of all, so you should definitely refuse it.
