Already in February 2020, a separate bilingual television channel should be launched for residents of the temporarily occupied Donbass.
This was told in an interview with ZN.UA by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Vladimir Borodyansky.
He emphasized that broadcasting will take place in Ukrainian and Russian and only in temporarily occupied territories. The channel is being created on the basis of UATV - the Ukrainian broadcasting channel.
“The language will be both Ukrainian and Russian. Right now, the process of creating such a channel on the basis of UATV is underway, which should be launched in February. I repeat: its broadcasting will only be in the temporarily occupied territories, ”said Borodyansky.
According to him, the main task of the new channel is to convey truthful information to residents of the occupied Donbass.
“Our task is to make sure that people in the temporarily occupied territories know the truth about what is happening in Ukraine, so that we begin to conduct dialogue with people living in this territory on the air of such a television channel. First of all, with the scientific environment. And our task is to convey truthful information, ”said Borodyansky.
Earlier, Minister of Culture Volodymyr Borodyansky reported that the channel for broadcasting to the temporarily occupied territories was budgeted and negotiations were underway with Ukrainian television channels to broadcast content.
