The famous Dutch footballer Marco van Basten was at the center of the scandal after he broadcast the infamous Nazi slogan.
The incident occurred before the match of the 13th round of the Eredivisi, in which Ajax and Heracles played. Former Dutch national team coach worked in the studio and, listening to an interview with German coach Heracles, decided to play a trick on his accent.
When Frank Wormut's interview came to an end, Marco van Basten said the phrase “Sieg Heil”. This is a notorious Nazi salute.
After the broadcast, van Basten was forced to apologize for his behavior. Fans reacted extremely negatively to the ex-coach of the national team.
