The modern young generation is well aware that any information can be found on the Internet, copied and all tasks are ready. It is convenient, fast and always "credited". However, things will not be so easy now. From now on, students may be deprived of the opportunity to pursue a degree in higher education for violation of academic integrity.
The Ministry of Education and Science was informed that now students will not be given a diploma for plagiarism. The decision was supported by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and this provision will be part of the bill on changes in higher education.
Because students often disregard the rules of academic virtue, the younger generation will be able to understand the responsibility for their work since the bill came into force.
The Ministry of Education and Science explains: "If plagiarism is detected in a bachelor's thesis, the student may not receive a diploma by the results of the study." That is, avoid copying information, any fabrication or falsification for the sake of higher education.
The law will come into force after the second reading and approval of the President.
