A Kenyan representative for the first time in the world ran a marathon in less than two hours. The marathon was held in Vienna as part of the "Ineos 1:59 Challenge".
Elihu Kipchoge ran a distance of 42 km 195 m in 1 hour 59 minutes 40.2 seconds. It is worth noting that the previous record also belonged to Kipchoge, then he ran in 2 hours 1 minute 39 seconds.
"It shows that no one is restricted ... I have done it now. I expect more people will do it after me." Said the Kenyan.
We will remind that on October 5-6 in Kiev the international Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon took place.
